Ira had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Borden County Coyotes 12-11 on Saturday. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Coyotes on their field since May 13, 2017.
Ella Robertson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hayden Murdock, who scored two runs and stole four bases.
Borden County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Coming up, Ira will face off against Hermleigh at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Borden County, they have already played their next contest, an 8-7 defeat against New Home on the 1st.
