Softball Recap: Owosso Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Owosso put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the St. Clair Saints. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 12-2 victory the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Hailie Caswell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Owosso saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylee Nesbit, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Audri Hrncharik also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Owosso pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average this season. As for St. Clair, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Looking ahead, Owosso will take on Mason at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Clair, they will face off against Lakeville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
