Arlington is 8-2 against Vanlue since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Red Devils will host the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Wednesday, Arlington didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty-Benton and fell 3-2. The Red Devils haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Arlington sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-16, 20-25, 25-21, 21-25, 15-9.
Despite the loss, Arlington saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Raeleigh Bower had 12 digs.
Meanwhile, Vanlue came up short against Riverdale on Wednesday, falling 3-0.
Vanlue was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-10, 25-14.
Arlington now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Vanlue, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Everything went Arlington's way against Vanlue in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Arlington made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Red Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
