Football Recap: Riverton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Riverton extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were dealt a 56-0 defeat at the hands of the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 454th, while the Trojans are ranked 54th).

As for Maroa-Forsyth, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Ryne Sheppard had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 271 yards and six TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 37 yards. Zach Smith was another key player, picking up 67 receiving yards and three scores.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Riverton will square off against rival Pleasant Plains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Maroa-Forsyth is set to take on their familiar foe Pittsfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
