Basketball Recap: Pleasant Hope Piles Up the Points Against Niangua

Pleasant Hope won the last time they faced Niangua and things went their way on Monday too. The Pleasant Hope Pirates breezed past the Niangua Cardinals to the tune of 78-44. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Cardinals are ranked 577th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pleasant Hope has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for Niangua, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-20-1.

Pleasant Hope has already played their next matchup, a 59-55 defeat against New Covenant Academy on the 11th. As for Niangua, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-42 loss against Bradleyville on the 11th.
