Eastbrook is 2-8 against Wabash since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Apaches at 10:00 a.m. Eastbrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Eastbrook took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Madison-Grant with a sharp 11-1 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Carter Daugherty made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has become a key player for Eastbrook: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Daugherty was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Kyler Hackman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with seven RBI, one triple, and one run. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malakai Luthy, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Eastbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Wabash entered their tilt with Madison-Grant on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Argylls. That's two games straight that the Apaches have won by exactly two runs.
Eastbrook now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Wabash, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Eastbrook has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wabash struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Eastbrook couldn't quite get it done against Wabash in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 12-7. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
