Olivia Blackmore was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Greene, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Fairmont got the win against Springfield on Friday by a conclusive 11-4. The Firebirds haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Jaylin Turner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carlee Netherton, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paige Russell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Fairmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield only posted a batting average of .167.
Fairmont's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Beavercreek, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
