Baseball Recap: Greenbrier Christian Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Cox

Greenbrier Christian Academy faced Cox in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Gators took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Gators couldn't push the score so high this time.

Tyson Moravec made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Watson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Greenbrier Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-4 record this season. As for Cox, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenbrier Christian Academy will take on Isle of Wight Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cox, they will venture away from home to square off against First Colonial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
