It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Corner Canyon had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lone Peak Knights 30-27. The Chargers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

Weston Briggs was his usual excellent self, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards.

Corner Canyon was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Corner Canyon, adding 12 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Davis Nelson: he added 12 points with four field goals.

When it comes to explaining why Lone Peak lost, don't look at Sam Wright. Despite the final result, he rushed for 108 yards. The dominant performance gave Wright a new career-high in rushing yards.

Corner Canyon's record is now 13-1. As for Lone Peak, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-3 record.
