Baseball Game Preview: Mission Bears vs. The Academy - San Francisco Wolves

For the second straight game, Mission will face off against The Academy - San Francisco. The Bears will take on the Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Mission is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand The Academy - San Francisco a 21-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bears as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Adrian Chiavarria and Rowan Powell did most of the damage at the plate: Chiavarria got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI, while Powell went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Powell is becoming a predictor of Mission's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-10 when he doesn't). Asante McAllister was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
