Basketball Recap: Stockton Blackhawks vs. River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats
Stockton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the River Ridge/Scales Mound Wildcats and fell 56-29. The Blackhawks were down 45-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Stockton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taylor Haas posted six points and three blocks. Haas is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Ireland Mensendike was another key player, putting up three points.
Even though they lost, Stockton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as River Ridge/Scales Mound only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Laiken Haas continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for River Ridge/Scales Mound, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten assists. What's more, Haas also racked up eight steals, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kenley Patterson, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 14 points and five boards.
Stockton's loss dropped their record down to 17-11. As for River Ridge/Scales Mound, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.
