Volleyball Recap: Berkshire Extends Winning Streak to Five

Berkshire waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Rootstown Rovers 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

While Berkshire won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-9, 25-18.

Jill Smetana paced Berkshire's offense, picking up 11 kills. Smetana got some help from Marissa Rish and her 18 assists. Rish was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Berkshire's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Rootstown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Berkshire has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against South on the 4th. As for Rootstown, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Mogadore on the 6th.
