Basketball Recap: Kai Wade and Xandrell Pennix Secure Win for Orange

With a playoff win on the line, Orange rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons 69-66. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since January 9th.

Leading Orange to victory were Xandrell Pennix and Kai Wade. Pennix posted 23 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Wade had 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Pennix continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hector Garrido, who scored six points and nine boards.

Orange was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are 15-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Despite the loss, C.B. Aycock still got an impressive performance from Jaiden Williams, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 23 points. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Zimere Mcclarin, who earned eight points and 12 rebounds.

Orange's record now sits at 19-8. As for C.B. Aycock, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-10.

Orange has already played their next matchup, a 56-53 loss against Person on the 28th. C.B. Aycock does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
