It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Helix can now relate to. They fell just short of the Steele Canyon Cougars by a score of 22-19 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Highlanders have suffered since November 22, 2024.

Helix's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Andrew-Johnson, who picked up 76 receiving yards and two scores, and Lee Norman-Lester, who threw for 151 yards and a pair of TDs. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Jordan Lindley, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Gavin Caha looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 231 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing yards (21).

Helix's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Steele Canyon, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-3.
