Softball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Cape Henry Collegiate ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Salem Sundevils as they made off with a 17-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kendall Isenberg was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Joslynne LaMontagne also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Cape Henry Collegiate was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Cape Henry Collegiate's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cape Henry Collegiate will challenge First Colonial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Dolphins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Salem, they will take on Landstown at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
