Basketball Recap: Alex Takes a Loss

Alex lost against Sterling back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Alex Longhorns lost 75-52 to the Sterling Tigers. The Longhorns just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Alex's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Sterling, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Alex will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Velma-Alma at 8:00 p.m. on January 28th. Velma-Alma will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Alex surely won't give up without a fight. After both having extra time off, Sterling and Indiahoma will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 28th. Sterling knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Indiahoma likes a good challenge.
