Basketball Recap: Dighton Comes Up Short on the Road Against Trego

Dighton kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Trego Golden Eagles and fell 86-53. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 52-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Dighton lost, don't look at Charlie Vogel. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-18 to rack up 18 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. Shawn Redburn was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 15 points.

Looking ahead, Dighton will face off against Oakley at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Trego, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wichita County at 7:30 p.m.
