Softball Recap: Chester Comes Up Short

Chester was the 6-3 winner over Sparta when they last played one another on Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Yellowjackets wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Chester saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elaina Lutman, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Lutman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games she's played.

Chester's defeat dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Sparta, they moved to 7-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Chester will welcome Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight. Sparta has already played their next game (against Valmeyer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
