Baseball Game Preview: Lexington Eagles vs. Weimar Wildcats

The Lexington Eagles will challenge the Weimar Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Weimar took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lexington, who comes in off a win.

Weimar will be up against a hot Lexington team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went Lexington's way against Burton on Friday as Lexington made off with an 8-2 victory. That looming 8-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Carson Beck spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Peyton Tomas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Weston Bayer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Weimar's offense. They came up short against Burton on Friday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Weimar's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lexington, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
