Baseball Recap: Fort Morgan Takes a Loss

Fort Morgan blew Eaton out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Eaton got their revenge. The Mustangs fell just short of the Reds by a score of 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Mustangs have suffered since May 7, 2024.

Riley Elrick was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Chase Prouty, who went 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Fort Morgan has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Eaton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Fort Morgan will take on rival Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Eaton is set to square off against their familiar foe Brush at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Reds have won 21 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Beetdiggers won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
