Softball Recap: C. Milton Wright Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

After only one run in their last game, C. Milton Wright made sure to put some runs up on the board against Aberdeen on Tuesday. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Madalyn Hoskins was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Brooke Lusby was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kendra Miller, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

C. Milton Wright was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

C. Milton Wright has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Aberdeen, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-9.
