Oxford is 9-1 against DeSoto Central since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Oxford Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the DeSoto Central Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. Oxford is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Oxford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: East Central, who was ranked 20th at the time (Oxford was ranked eighth). Oxford never let East Central onto the board and left with a 5-0 victory on Saturday. Considering the Chargers have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, DeSoto Central's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Patrick, sneaking past 1-0.

Oxford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those eight contests. As for DeSoto Central, their record is now 4-7.

Everything went Oxford's way against DeSoto Central when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Oxford made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oxford since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
