Softball Recap: Oakville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Wishkah Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakville). They won by a run and slipped past the Wishkah Valley Loggers 27-26. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Oakville got a massive performance out of Vivi Cruz, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was Cruz's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Raven Blackwell, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Oakville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .741. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oakville's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8-1. As for Wishkah Valley, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakville will face off against Ocosta at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Acorns will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Wishkah Valley, they will challenge Taholah at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
