Basketball Recap: Skylar Peterson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage over Greeley West

Heritage saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 44-30 bruising from the Greeley West Spartans. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Heritage lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Skylar Peterson, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Among those leading the charge was Paige Rupple, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave her a new career-high. Nairis Benitez Guitierrez was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Heritage now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Greeley West, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heritage will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Golden at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th. As for Greeley West, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mountain View at 5:30 p.m.
