Basketball Recap: Watertown Comes Up Short

After flying high against Brookings last Friday, Watertown came back down to earth. The Watertown Arrows lost 76-50 to the Lincoln Patriots on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Arrows can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Patriots are ranked third).

Watertown has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Lincoln, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watertown has already played their next game (against Washington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lincoln will face off against Brookings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln is facing Brookings at the right time seeing as Brookings is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
