Baseball Recap: Rogers Vikings vs. Tolman Tigers

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Rogers had no problem doing just that on Sunday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tolman Tigers a 2-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Rogers sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Not much got past Robert Dufault, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Tolman off the board. Dufault has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Darren Carter was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last eight games he's played.

Rogers is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5-1 record this season. As for Tolman, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.
