Basketball Recap: Lyons Comes Up Short at Home Against Golden View Classical Academy

Lyons unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels by a score of 66-63 on Monday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lyons lost, don't look at Zeke Paznokas. Despite the final result, he posted 32 points and five rebounds. The matchup was Paznokas' third in a row with at least 16 points. Jake Lacrosse was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

Golden View Classical Academy had a senior duo take command as Jacob Walker shot 47% from the field en route to 19 points and six rebounds and Luke Chronowski went 8-for-17 on his way to 21 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was George Hermanson, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Lyons wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-40 win against Loveland Classical on the 2nd. As for Golden View Classical Academy, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ascent Classical Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
