Soccer Recap: Marian Central Catholic Comes Up Short

After flying high against St. Edward on Tuesday, Marian Central Catholic came back down to earth. The Hurricanes lost 5-0 to the Wheaton Academy Warriors on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Marian Central Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 325th, while Wheaton Academy are ranked 133rd).

Marian Central Catholic dropped their record down to 2-6-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Wheaton Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2-3.

Looking ahead, Marian Central Catholic will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Chicago Hope Academy at 4:30 p.m. As for Wheaton Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Guilford at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
