Soccer Recap: Pleasant Valley Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Pleasant Valley hasn't lost a match since January 22nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Red Bluff Spartans a 1-0 shutout. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Spartans are ranked 486th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pleasant Valley's one-goal win came courtesy of Sienna Weaver, who's now up to four this season.

Pleasant Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six contests. As for Red Bluff, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-10.

As of now, neither Pleasant Valley nor Red Bluff have any future games scheduled.
