Basketball Game Preview: Gunn Titans vs. Los Gatos Wildcats

Gunn is 0-10 against Los Gatos since February of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Gunn Titans will face off against the Los Gatos Wildcats at 7:00 p.m.

Last Friday, Gunn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-50 to Wilcox.

Meanwhile, Los Gatos waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 55-51 W against the Spartans. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Spartans are ranked 380th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gunn better focus on containing Anthony Martin and Scotty Brennan as the pair were huge in Los Gatos' win. Martin went 9 of 16 en route to 21 points, while Brennan went 5 for 11 to rack up 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Osha Moloney, who posted three points.

Los Gatos' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points over those games. As for Gunn, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

Things could have been worse for Gunn, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 76-58 loss to Los Gatos when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Martin, who went 11 of 14 on his way to 25 points and six steals.
