            Soccer Recap: Clovis vs. Palos Verdes        
        
		
        
        
            Clovis entered their  matchup against Palos Verdes  on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. 2025 welcomed the Clovis Cougars with  a  5-2 loss courtesy of the Palos Verdes Sea Kings. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings  (they are ranked 58th, while the Sea Kings are ranked ninth).
 Caleb Farmen and  Alexander Rodriguez scored both of Clovis' goals,  bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.
Clovis' loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 8-2-3. As for Palos Verdes, they pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Clovis will square off against Liberty at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Palos Verdes, they will challenge Sanger at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Palos Verdes is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9  goals per game  this season.
