Softball Recap: Eastern Alamance Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Eastern Alamance Eagles didn't have quite enough to beat the East Wilkes Cardinals and fell 11-10. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by just one run.

Edie Stewart and Olivia Foster did some serious damage despite the final result: Stewart went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI, while Foster went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Those three RBI gave Foster a new career-high. Rachel Byrd was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Eastern Alamance lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Wilkes didn't launched any home runs.

Eastern Alamance now has a losing record of 1-2. As for East Wilkes, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Eastern Alamance didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-4 victory against Cedar Ridge on the 3rd. As for East Wilkes, they will challenge East Forsyth at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
