Baseball Recap: Fort Bend Bush Comes Up Short

Fort Bend Bush lost against Cypress Springs back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fort Bend Bush Broncos took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cypress Springs Panthers.

Anthony Flores made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Allen Tovar was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Fort Bend Bush's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Cypress Springs, their record now sits at 3-5.

Looking ahead, it'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when the Broncos duke it out with the Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Austin has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed eight runs per game on average), something Fort Bend Bush will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Cypress Springs, they will take on Paetow in a tournament on Saturday. Paetow is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
