Softball Recap: Wright Tech Takes a Loss

Wright Tech extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping them down to 3-9. They came up short against the Wilcox RVT Indian, falling 20-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indian this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-2 back in April.

As for Wilcox RVT, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12 runs.

For Wilcox RVT's part, Katelyn Ouellette was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Ouellette has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ariana Suarez was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Gabby Velez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wright Tech will welcome O'Brien RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Condors have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups. As for Wilcox RVT, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kaynor Tech at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
