Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Early College Comes Up Short

Blue Ridge Early College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They took a blow against the Hayesville Yellowjackets, falling 69-27. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-25 last Saturday.

Blue Ridge Early College's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dakota Kinsey, who posted six points. Jeysson Soriano also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Blue Ridge Early College's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Hayesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

Blue Ridge Early College will head out on the road to challenge Hiwassee Dam at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hiwassee Dam knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Blue Ridge Early College likes a good challenge. As for Hayesville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cherokee at 8:00 p.m. Hayesville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
