Baseball Game Preview: Berkeley Prep Buccaneers vs. Lakeland Dreadnaughts

The Berkeley Prep Buccaneers will venture away from home to face off against the Lakeland Dreadnaughts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berkeley Prep's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Lakeland's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Berkeley Prep's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over Sports Leadership & Management.

Berkeley Prep's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Josh Herrmann, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. George Cook was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Lakeland didn't have quite enough to beat Mulberry on Thursday and fell 7-6.

CARTER MASLYN was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). CAMERON FUSE also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen base of the season.

Lakeland now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Berkeley Prep, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Berkeley Prep suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Lakeland in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Berkeley Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
