Softball Recap: Danville Comes Up Short

Danville blew Lexington out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Lexington got their revenge. The Hawks fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 7-5. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Brooke Wauford was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jada Weaver, who earned two runs and one stolen base.

Danville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Lexington, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Danville will challenge West Morgan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lexington, they will head out to challenge Athens Bible at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
