Basketball Recap: Lawrence-Nelson Raiders vs. Diller-Odell Griffin
It was a good run, but Lawrence-Nelson unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Diller-Odell Griffin. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Griffin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Lawrence-Nelson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Wyatt Frey, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Frey has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last six times he's played. Cooper Heikkinen also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Even though they lost, Lawrence-Nelson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.
Cooper Morgan was his usual excellent self, putting up 21 points and six rebounds for Diller-Odell. Morgan continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Peyton Humphreys was another key player, scoring seven points and six boards.
Lawrence-Nelson's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Diller-Odell, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Lawrence-Nelson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-40 victory against Blue Hill on the 28th. Diller-Odell has also already played their next game, a 73-41 defeat against Hanover on the 28th.
