Softball Recap: West Sabine Comes Up Short

Groveton hit West Sabine with a 12-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Indians, falling 16-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Indians: they've now lost seven in a row.

West Sabine saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Mattingly, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

West Sabine's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Groveton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5-1 record this season.

West Sabine will face off against Brookeland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Groveton, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Lovelady on the 21st.
