Basketball Recap: Rosewood Takes a Loss

Rosewood lost against North Duplin back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Rosewood Eagles were beaten by the North Duplin Rebels 47-16. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Rebels are ranked 182nd).

Tateyawna Faison was her usual excellent self, putting up 20 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks for North Duplin. That makes it three consecutive games in which Faison has scored at least a third of North Duplin's points. Abby Rose was another key player, scoring seven points and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Rosewood and nudges their season record down to 7-11. As for North Duplin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

While Rosewood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
