The William Tennent Panthers will head out to take on the New Hope-Solebury Lions at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (William Tennent 2.8, New Hope-Solebury 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
It was a proper cat-fight when William Tennent duked it out with Lower Moreland on Thursday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Lions. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, while New Hope-Solebury put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Cheltenham. The Lions put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Mabel Klossner and Dagny Mobley made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Klossner struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Mobley pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Klossner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Klossner went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Mobley went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Klossner also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Maya Patel was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Harris, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
New Hope-Solebury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for New Hope-Solebury and bumps their season record up to 3-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for William Tennent, their record now sits at 3-1.
Everything went William Tennent's way against New Hope-Solebury in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as William Tennent made off with a 17-2 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
