You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Columbine's strategy against Bear Creek on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Columbine Rebels blew the Bear Creek Bears out of the water with an 80-33 final score. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 22 points or more this season.

Columbine's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Speir led the charge by going 10 of 17 on her way to 24 points along with five assists and three steals. Speir is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Washington, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Speir wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Columbine was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists.they racked up nine more assists than Bear Creek's almost as impressive total of 12

When it comes to explaining why Bear Creek lost, don't look at Rachel Vasey. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 11 to rack up 14 points and six boards. Olivia Kan was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Columbine is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Bear Creek, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Columbine didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-46 defeat against Valor Christian on the 8th. As for Bear Creek, they will venture away from home to square off against Arvada West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
