Basketball Recap: Parkwood Takes a Loss

Parkwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. The match between them and the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets didn't end well, with the Parkwood Wolf Pack falling 66-51. The Wolf Pack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Forest Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amari Melton, who posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Blakeney, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Parkwood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Forest Hills, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-5.

Parkwood and Forest Hills could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Parkwood (ranked 572nd) will meet East Lincoln (ranked 224th) at 8:30 p.m. on December 27th. Similarly, Forest Hills (ranked 399th) will meet Ardrey Kell (ranked 72nd) at 7:30 p.m. on December 27th.
