With a playoff win on the line, Desert Oasis rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners with a sharp 33-13 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Diamondbacks sure are getting used to it with their 17th in a row.

Akemi Higa continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 201 yards and two touchdowns while completing 89.7% of her passes. That's the most rushing yards she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Another reason for the win was Desert Oasis' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Allie Peralta.

Desert Oasis' win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.5 points over those games. As for Southeast Career Tech, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 19-10 record this season.

Coming up, Desert Oasis will challenge Shadow Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Desert Oasis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 38 points per game this season. Southeast Career Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
