Niles North posted their closest win since September 10th on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Maine East Blue Demons. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Niles North had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-7, 25-21.

The win made it two in a row for Niles North and bumps their season record up to 12-14. As for Maine East, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-19.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Niles North will challenge rival Vernon Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Maine East is set to square off against their familiar foe Niles West at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
