Baseball Recap: Avery County Has No Trouble Against Rosman

Avery County won the last time they faced Rosman and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Vikings blew past the Tigers 13-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Finley Trivett and Jameson Wanner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Trivett pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Wanner struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. Trivett also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Avery County is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 0-6 otherwise. At the plate, Trivett scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Wanner scored a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Oak Markland, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and one triple. He has become a key player for Avery County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron King, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Avery County's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-7. As for Rosman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Avery County will welcome East Wilkes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rosman, they will head out on the road to face off against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
