Parker Chavez Dazzles in Valentine Victory

Parker Chavez's big game helped extend Valentine's winning streak to six on Friday. Nobody could stop Chavez as he picked up 84 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.

Valentine pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Chavez and Valentine will square off against Kearney Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Big Game from Homan As Kearney Catholic Won 21-6

Kearney Catholic found a leader in Pete Homan as the team took down Hershey on Friday. Homan was dynamite, rushing for 129 yards on only nine carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced two fumbles and made five total tackles.

Hershey had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Homan it was a similar story. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Homan saw the Panthers), he rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.

Valentine picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Trace Buechle. Buechle did his part (and then some), throwing for 165 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 49 yards for the 'W'. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played.

On the year, Buechle has thrown 17 touchdowns while averaging 134.6 passing yards per game.

Underclassman Michael Plasencio Comes Up Big Against Amherst

Underclassman Michael Plasencio came into Friday's game looking to prove himself and that's exactly what he did. He was dynamite on Friday, rushing for 49 yards and two touchdowns. He has become a key player for Mitchell: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise.

The win got Mitchell back to even at 4-4. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers dukes it out withHershey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
