Softball Recap: Tamaqua's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Tamaqua dropped their record down to 13-6-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They fell 7-4 to the Tri-Valley Bulldogs. The Blue Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 8-2.

As for Tri-Valley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

For Tri-Valley's part, Myah Schwalm spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. Schwalm has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Tamaqua will challenge Southern Lehigh at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tri-Valley, they have already played their next match, a 4-3 victory against North Schuylkill on the 15th.
