Recap: Casteel Colts vs. Corona del Sol Aztecs
The Casteel Colts's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They strolled past Corona del Sol with points to spare, taking the game 35-21. The win was just what Casteel needed coming off of a 43-7 loss in their prior match.
Casteel was led to victory by Mason Lewis and Braden Greene. Lewis rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, while Greene rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.
Several Aztecs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Ackerley, who threw for 257 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Zuri Glenn also helped out as he racked up 101 receiving yards.
Casteel's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Corona del Sol, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Casteel will be playing in front of their home fans against O'Connor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Corona del Sol, they will head out on the road to face off against Salpointe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Salpointe Catholic will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
