Baseball Recap: Coleman Takes Down Stamford in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Coleman walked away with it. They came out on top against the Stamford Bulldogs by a score of 4-1 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Bluecats: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Thursday, they had to take a 8-1 defeat.

Hunter Edington spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Coleman is 8-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 10-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Coleman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Elder, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

With the victory, Coleman broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 18-12. As for Stamford, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 15-4 record.

Coleman will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
